Public bug reported: [Impact] It is not possible to install an arm64 QEMU instance from the server ISO when attached as a SCSI CD-ROM.
[Test Case] I'm using the following commands to boot an arm64 QEMU/KVM guest: dd if=/dev/zero of=flash0.img bs=1M count=64 dd if=/usr/share/qemu-efi/QEMU_EFI.fd of=flash0.img conv=notrunc dd if=/dev/zero of=flash1.img bs=1M count=64 sudo qemu-system-aarch64 -enable-kvm -m 2048 -cpu host -smp 8 -M virt,gic_version=host -nographic -pflash flash0.img -pflash flash1.img -drive if=none,file=disk.img,id=hd0 -device virtio-blk-device,drive=hd0 -netdev type=tap,id=net0 -device virtio-net- device,netdev=net0,mac=ac:67:de:d2:4b:06 -drive file=xenial-server- arm64.iso,id=cdrom,if=none,media=cdrom -device virtio-scsi-device -device scsi-cd,drive=cdrom Currently, the installer fails because it cannot find the CD-ROM. [Regression Risk] Just adding virtio kernel modules, no big woop. ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: dann frazier (dannf) Status: In Progress ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Assignee: dann frazier (dannf) Status: In Progress ** Also affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu Xenial) Assignee: (unassigned) => dann frazier (dannf) ** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of नेपाली भाषा समायोजकहरुको समूह, which is subscribed to Xenial.
