Public bug reported: SRU Justification
Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or a minimally backported form of that patch. The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: v4.4.252 upstream stable release from git://git.kernel.org/ Revert "UBUNTU: SAUCE: target: fix XCOPY NAA identifier lookup" target: add XCOPY target/segment desc sense codes target: bounds check XCOPY segment descriptor list target: use XCOPY segment descriptor CSCD IDs xcopy: loop over devices using idr helper scsi: target: Fix XCOPY NAA identifier lookup powerpc: Fix incorrect stw{, ux, u, x} instructions in __set_pte_at net: ip: always refragment ip defragmented packets net: fix pmtu check in nopmtudisc mode vmlinux.lds.h: Add PGO and AutoFDO input sections ubifs: wbuf: Don't leak kernel memory to flash spi: pxa2xx: Fix use-after-free on unbind cpufreq: powernow-k8: pass policy rather than use cpufreq_cpu_get() wil6210: select CONFIG_CRC32 block: rsxx: select CONFIG_CRC32 iommu/intel: Fix memleak in intel_irq_remapping_alloc block: fix use-after-free in disk_part_iter_next net: drop bogus skb with CHECKSUM_PARTIAL and offset beyond end of trimmed packet Linux 4.4.252 UBUNTU: upstream stable to v4.4.252 ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Kamal Mostafa (kamalmostafa) Status: In Progress ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Xenial) Assignee: (unassigned) => Kamal Mostafa (kamalmostafa) ** Description changed: + SRU Justification - SRU Justification + Impact: + The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar + in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to + demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream + by originating either directly from a mainline/stable Linux tree or + a minimally backported form of that patch.
