Figured I'd try the beta... On my 300 MHz Smurf, QuickTime playback halts totally while growls fades in/out. With Growl 1.1.4, it just slows the frame rate.
On my 1.5 GHz PB G4, QuickTime noticeably slows, and iTunes streaming stutters while growl fades in/out. It did not previously stutter like that. (both machines on OS X 10.4.11, fully updated, including Safari 4 beta). Is there something I can tweak that might change the fade in/out performance? Minor eratta: In the Growl sysprefs, the beta reports itself as 1.1.5, instead of 1.1.5b1 - so there's no indication that you still have the beta installed.
