It seems to have not. I'm still having the problem.

I'm stumped, at this point. We're not using the Launch Services  
function that we had suspected. I wrote a small test app that told me  
it is GrowlHelperApp getting activated. I checked every way I can  
think of that GHA might get activated or activate itself, and not one  
of them was it.

So I now have no idea why GHA is activating.
