My intention was to answer this person's question, which I think I did. He or she asked how to remove Growl and I pointed him or her to a web page describing how to do it. I don't understand how that is being a jerk?

I find it remarkable that people's first instinct when they have trouble is to take the time to subscribe to a mailing list, post to said list, and then wait for a response, when a Google search would have yielded the same results in seconds.
