daye, I kept Growl 1.2 and used the GrowlMail-Leopard.mpkg from the Growl 1.1.6 Extras. The installation was successful and I'm now receiving Growl notifications for incoming mail. It appears as though the issue is with the GrowlMail packaged with Growl 1.2—or at least how that installer package interacts with Growl 1.2.
