This plugin is deprecated, in favor of the built-in support provided within Firefox itself. Note that one of the authors is sdwilsh, who wrote the code for the built-in support. The unfortunate problem that firefox is going to have is that they took our framework, ripped it apart, and then used that within firefox (really the backend code for firefox, which is how thunderbird also uses growl now). So when in 2.0 we drop the current communication method, what is there now will no longer function. 1.3 will be switching to gntp and will support the old communications method as well. However that's not going to make this any easier for them. So, if Growl notifications don't work for you from firefox without this plugin, then you will likely need to contact mozilla to get support as long as other applications work.
