Skype won't work with the workaround, it's going to be up to Skype to fix the problem, or waiting for the 1.3 sdk to be released and then performing the workaround there.
We want to update the version detective to replace the framework in applications to make things easier for everyone, not just detect the version. That'll come after 1.3.1 is out.
