We actually didn't run into this issue while in testing, but it's an open
ticket against Growl 1.3.1 currently. We may have a way to disable it.

Once this mode is enabled, it won't go away until you restart Growl. I think
that it's display specific, but I don't remember which display is doing it.
So you can try switching displays to see if you can figure out which one
wouldn't do it. If you figure out which one is doing it, I'd love to know.
