Rob,

Yup, we're currently using several 10.7 specific APIs both in the
rollup (using NSView based NSTableView) and in the History log by way
of CoreData. We are also going to be moving the entire configuration
UI to auto layout which Apple added in 10.7 as well as moving large
portions of the codebase into XPCServices (another 10.7 addition by
Apple) for sandboxing both on the application side as well as the
client end (applications that talk to growl).

We felt that with all the changes we've got planned for 1.4 and 1.5
(auto layout, xpc, sandboxing, et al) that it would have been entirely
unacceptable for us to ship a version in the app store that worked on
10.6 only to turn around and abandon the 10.6 users 3-4 months later.
We instead opted to draw the line in the sand at 10.7 for the app
store version, both from an API/code reduction standpoint as well as
making sure that people get their money's worth.
