OK - I finally figured out that the flashing menubar item is because I
have unviewed items in my history. (At least that is what I think it
means). Does this mean that if I want to prevent the flashing in the
future, I need to turn off history? I like having the history there
(could be helpful for problem solving at some point), but I don't need
to be reminded constantly that it is there.

Also - why was the menubar icon not flashing on my laptop? I mentioned
I have the same setup, and also have unviewed history there.
