I figured that I needed to get with the times and also support the Growl team, so I completely uninstalled 1.2.x using the proper tool on Friday and bought the new Growl from the Mac App Store.
The two apps I mainly need growl for -- Skype and Adium (latest versions) worked very well. Not sure if I like Rollup or not, but that is a different topic and not my point here. However, my Yahoo messenger (latest version from July 2011), no longer displays growl notifications. I am a little bit disappointed but if I had to I could always add that second Yahoo account into Adium and just get by that way.
