I can assure you that there are many people not only reading these messages but working on the updates, of which there have been several. One of the things that seems to cause most people trouble is the fact that Growl doesn't really do most of the notifications unless and until the apps that work with it actually report something. When Growl was updated to be available at the Mac App Store, it had to be greatly modified to follow Apple's rules. But that also meant that the methods that all the other apps were using may have needed to be updated also. Many developers made those changes, some much faster than others. Some have *still* *not* made the required changes. But the developers of Growl are completely at the mercy of all those developers making the needed changes. If those guys don't, the only thing the Growl dev's can do is ask us to complain to those sluggard dev's. Without reading between the lines, it is obvious that many people think Growl is the only app involved in its performance. It's simply not true. To work with Apple's Mail, you need GrowlMail, etc. Many simply need to update the 'frameworks' that other apps use to communicate with Growl. Finally, remember that ratings are almost always weighted toward the negative. People are much more willing to complain about something than to post nice comments. All I know is that I've got well more than my two bucks use out of the app! And I dare you to find developers that answer questions faster or more directly, not to mention with a positive attitude even when the questioner is very rude or antagonistic! ;-) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Growl Discuss" group.
