There used to be a very useful toggle to tell an application when its
notifications where clicked, or not.

I used this with Sparrow, since clicking the notification would mark a
message as read, but not actually show the message.

Now, it seems that this option has quietly gone away, so I keep clicking
notifications to quickly clear them off my screen and inadvertently marking
my e-mails as read when i have never seen them.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? How do I get this option back, or how
can I manually disable this function just for Sparrow?

(I have e-mailed Sparrow support to ask why clicking a Growl notification
marks a message as read, but doesn't show the message. They said, simply,
that they would look into it. Which means it's a feature, not a bug.)
