There is, one of the features added to Applescript in 1.4 was callback
URL, when you click the note, we attempt to open the URL, so if you
add to the end of your applescript arguments for notifying:

callback URL "file:///Applications/Mail.app"

And when the note is clicked, Mail.app will open (or we will switch to
if it is already open).  This can be extended with apps that have
custom URL schemes, to open to specific locations (for instance, you
can open Growl preferences by sending growl://preferences).
