The growl update instructions on this 
page<http://growl.info/growlupdateavailable> instruct 
the users to download and run the 1.2 uninstaller before updating in the 
App Store, but the default security settings in Mountain Lion prevent 
installers from running which are not signed by "known developers". The 
fact that you have an app in the app store indicates to me that you are a 
known developer, so perhaps you could rebuild the uninstaller so that it is 
signed and runs without having to change your security settings to Allow 
applications downloaded from Anywhere".
