Hello, so the App Store lets you redownload apps you've already bought for free. However, it can be a bit weird about it at times. If it says its already installed, try running Growl Version Detective, available here: http://growl.info/downloads, to check if you have copies someplace you didn't think of (like a time machine backup). The first tab will show all copies of Growl that are installed on your system, and can be used to track down why it might think its installed
