Displays and actions in Growl 2.0 are separated, if your display popups are greyed out and not clickable, its probably because you have the Notification Center switch on on the General Tab. If its not that, perhaps you could be more descriptive about what you've tried. If you want more fine grained control over Notification Center, try the Bark action available at http://barkplug.in, which while we can't ship with Growl due to Apple's limitations, we do recommend it.
