I've filed this as issue #578:

which you can use to track it.  It's likely an Apple change whether
intentional or a bug, as I have seen reports of a number of other apps
exhibiting issues with this.  I have listed it at 2.1, as it would be
nice to have that fix go out in it as well, however, I am making no
promises that we will find a proper resolution for this in time,
especially since it seems to be an Apple change that is affecting a
number of apps.

As I posted in the bug report, a workaround is to use GfxCardStatus to
force integrated mode on for when you don't need the discrete card
(note, that manual swapping might cause issues in some apps, and they
would need to be rebooted after switching, I particularly noted this
for instance, in twitter.app when I was doing this to work around an
issue in another app a number of months ago).
