Hi Isa, Unfortunately it's been a bit of a pain to explain how Growl works. It's sort of something of an "aha" moment type thing. I'll try to explain though.
The general idea is that Growl is always running, waiting to be told to tell you about something. Let's say you have your email client setup to talk to Growl, and you get a new email. Growl receives a note from the mail client, and then looks to see how to post it based on your settings in Growl for the mail client. Then you get a note. It can be visual, it can do something like speak it or send it to your phone. There's a lot that can happen. Growl lets you customize how the note looks. You can have multiple things happen as well. Let's start with this description, you tell us what questions you have and we'll work from there.
