Hello, so, on the front of dropbox, there are a couple of conditions
for Dropbox to work, Growl must be running when dropbox starts, and
Dropbox must be set to display notifications. For Firefox and
Thunderbird, Mozilla has dropped support for Growl (they never did
support it well anyways), however there is a plugin
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/growlgntp/ that should
reenable support for talking to Growl. For some other popular apps,
see here: http://growl.info/documentation/appconfigs/, and a number of
apps are along the lines discussed in the articles there.
