1.3+ to 1.2 I know of one way (and another coming in 2.1), but not sure of any from 1.2 to 2.0 off the top of my head. If you are technically inclined, you could look at https://github.com/kfdm/gntp-regrowl and figure out away to read the old protocol and forward it to a newer growl, or you could write an (old school) plugin for Growl 1.2 to send to 2.0 (could leverage a variety of GNTP implementations), but I understand that this would be a more involved endeavor.
