I have upgraded to the 2.1.3 version, and the repeated "install" takes me to 1.2 version. I just ran uninstall growl twice, and the 2.1.3 version is still on my disk under applications. But there is no Growl shown on the System Preferences pane. I suspect that this 2.1.3 version is actually not installed, but the app is there. Don't know what to do about this.
