Installing gstat

Hi I'm trying to install gstat on a SGI Indy running IRIX 5.3 and its
giving me some grief I run


./configure --prefix=/usr/local/perws/nick/progs/gstat_dir

OK

Then 

make

I get this error message:

cfe: Error: ./matrix.h, line 43: redeclaration of 'u_int'; previous
declaration at line 34 in file '/usr/include/sys/bsd_types.h'
 typedef        unsigned int    u_int;
 -------        ------------    ^

and then it blows out...
