Hi Dan,
I just have a look to your MDS roadmap. I don't know if it is useful or not
for your purposes, but in the context of our EU-funded project (
www.d4science.org) we have already implemented an aggregator sinks (we
called it "Information Collector") collecting and storing data into an XML
backend (eXist in our case, but it can be replaced at any time). Plus, it
offers a query interface supporting XQuery and XPath expressions against the
collected data. It proved to serve the needs of our previous project (
www.diligentproject.org) with thousands of queries per hour and thousands of
hundreds of storage operations per day.
We are now planning to move on supporting also a WS-DAIX compliant
interface. Our porting will be finalised in May, when we will release the
pre-final version of our software based on our gCore framework (
http://wiki.gcore.research-infrastructures.eu/gCube/index.php/GCore_Tutorial
)

regards,
manuele
