Perl 5.10 and Perl 5.8 are not binary compatible, sadly. Any perl packages that have binaries in them (like Digest::MD5 or Compress::Zlib) cannot be re-used from a perl 5.8 machine to a perl 5.10 machine.

The trouble looks like your /usr/local/globus-4.0.7 was made on a perl 5.8 machine, and you are running it on a perl 5.10 machine.

Hi:

I've installed some grid services in one machine running globus- start-container with security. I've generated the certificates and everything seems to be OK. Now, I'm trying to execute the clients in another machine, so I need to create more certificates. Following the Appendix in the documentations: "Installing SimpleCA", I should copy the package ./globus/simpleCA/globus_simple_ca_HASH_setup-0.17.tar.gz in my computer and run $GLOBUS_LOCATION/sbin/gpt-build globus_simple_ca_HASH_setyup-0.17.tar.gz, but I get the following error:

/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/local/globus-4.0.7/lib/perl/ i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi/auto/Compress/Zlib/Zlib.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Tstack_sp_ptr

I think it is must be related with Pearl Packages, maybe I have not installed the right one. I'm using a Debian Linux OS and I don't know which could be the right packet.

Thanks

Carlos
