There are some bash-specific constructs in that version of GT.
That has been fixed in GT 4.0.6 and higher (see http://bugzilla.globus.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4530)

You might be able to work around this by modifing the first line to
point to the path to bash if you have that installed on your system.
