Reasons I can think off of the top of my head for using service certificates would be if the services were used by different user communities and the certificates were issued by different CAs, if the services are running as different local users and you're picky about making copies of the private key, or if the services are administered by different people who don't get along 1/2 :-)
But in general I don't think there is a practical advantage. Von On 7/17/09 12:18 PM, Stephen Cartwright wrote: > Hi there, > > I'm wondering what is the advantage of having service certificates for > specific services (e.g. LDAP) vs just using a host certificate? > > Thanks, > > Stephen
