*Job title : Systems Analyst* *Duration : 6-12 months* * location : New York, NY* *Scope of work* Client requires consulting services to support a New Fare Payment System Initiative that involves the development of a mobile ticketing system and on-board validation with Ticket Issuing Machines (TIMs). *Background:* Client will be implementing the use of a new ticket payment method which includes the utilization of mobile ticketing using visual/barcode display of tickets as well as onboard validation via handheld Ticketing Issuing Machines (TIMs).The Consultant selected will be serving as a Systems Analyst for this critical initiative to ensure that the project adheres to an effective project management and software development lifecycle process. This will involve working with client's key stakeholders to take a leadership role in working with MNR business and technical users to develop functional requirements and system specifications. Any risks identified during the design, development and implementation process must be raised to the client's's Project Team in a timely manner and be accompanied with recommended mitigation strategies. The candidates must have experience and a proven track record as a Systems Analyst for process reengineering and technology related projects in addition to quality assurance (QA) background. Experience and knowledge of Payment Card systems and compliance a plus. *Candidates must be able to:* · Lead in the development and delivery of well-designed software, from simple to extremely complex applications, following MNR standards and guidelines. · Support the development of Business Requirements, Functional Requirements and System Specifications for the Mobile Ticketing project. · Strong ability to conceptualize business requirements of the program being developed, including the ability to identify underlying principles and the appropriate data handling techniques required. · Demonstrated ability to plan, present and apply complex technology solutions to solve critical business requirements effectively and efficiently. · Analyze, develop and maintain high quality technical documentation. · Evaluate and document mobile system interface and integration with back office systems, processes and business rules. · Lead in the development and maintenance of functional test plans that adequately test the defined requirements and functions. · Review/audit vendor quality documentation and procedures and determine any required action plan. · Proven experience working with senior level staff contributing to both short and long term technology related planning strategies. · Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 10 years' experience in programming, system analysis and QA roles. · Must possess a minimum of *10 years'* experience in the development, testing of computer programs and software applications. · Good knowledge of iOS, Windows operating systems and internet technologies. · Present excellent communication and written skills with attentiveness to detail. · Possess a strong work ethic coupled with a high initiative. · Present personality traits that include organizational ability, responsibility and dedication. · Work independently and under pressure, as well as in a team environment. · A degree in Management Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, Business or related discipline is desirable.
