*Job Title: Cisco Voice EngineerLocation: New York City Duration: 06+ months contract with extensionsNeed Local only/-Job Description:*Networking knowledge (i.e. routers and switches) and a strong understanding of VoIP products is required (i.e. various types of IP based voice products - Cisco gateways as well as legacy voice PBX vendors/products.) Must adhere to design standards and global design processes and procedures; computer skills and the use of various applications such as MS Project, MS Office, MS Visio are a must. Ability to liase with 3rd parties and provide representation on behalf of our client, developing optimum solutions and ratifying designs. A strong understanding of dial plan schemes (e.164), trunking, transmissions and reporting of trunking and capacity metrics are a must. Extensive knowledge in VoIP transport such as, SIP, Inter Cluster Trunking, Call Admission and Control mechanisms, centralization of call processing and Trunking services and network policy enforcement (i.e. QoS). Strong understanding of various carrier network advanced technology offerings and the state in which their networks are evolving. Experience in configuring Cisco IOS based media gateway devices for T1 CAS connections, as well as an understanding of advanced IP to IP gateway functionality. Voice and data network transport such as; T1/E1, IP using Frame and private line networks. Working knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 addressing and Router components and functionality. The ability to assemble professional documents based on existing templates. Must understand project delivery lifecycle management, the concept of a Detailed Design, Test and Certification methodologies, Back-Out and Validation plans and procedures. *Responsibilities: *At times, the candidate may take part in service and business management activities related to Core Voice (RFI/RFP, service planning). Voice Design/Implementation/Trouble-shooting: Design, order and turn-up/test voice circuits. Troubleshoot issues on circuits and lines by bringing carrier where needed. Disaster Recovery/Resiliency Planning/Documentation: Partner with the customer to review requirements, design and implement a sound Recovery within current location and off-site location in the event the current environment is no longer available. Complete orders to carriers and validate with testing as requested by the customer. Document all plans and keep them on Sharepoint.
