Looking forward for your response. *Role:* Storage Architect *Location: *Lake Forest, IL *Duration: *Long Term *JOB DESCRIPTION:* The Storage Administrator is responsible for central support, storage management, and storage management infrastructure to increase the reliability and cost effectiveness of storage that enables the Grainger business. This includes Storage Area Network (SAN) deployment, storage resource management (SRM) implementation, and storage backup and recovery. This role includes monitoring and managing storage availability and capacity using products, standards and procedures that provide reporting, analysis, and management of physical and logical storage availability, capacity, configuration and performance. The Storage Administrator is a key resource who works independently to ensure the maintenance, performance and protection of application data. Proper management of data is mission critical to the business. It impacts Graingers ability to sustain business operations from order entry through back end processes. The Storage Administrator is an advanced technical and analytical role. Major tasks include design, procurement, installation, configuration, tuning, capacity, backup, recovery, business continuity and support of the SAN Storage environment. Will provide operational insights and alternatives as participants in the planning and architecture processes for any new Grainger infrastructure software component or business application as required by the business. Research and recommend innovative solutions that improve the ability of SAN Storage, IT and/or Grainger service the customer better. Will design innovative SAN Storage infrastructure solutions that manage capacity, improve performance and drive down cost. Research and resolve current and potential problems with any supported SAN Storage infrastructure in a timely and proactive manner. Will deliver defined service level capabilities across multiple development, QA and production landscapes to meet customer requirements. Will maintain and manage the SAN storage infrastructure products as needed. Provisions and supports nightly backups. Verifies compatibility of hardware, software and applications with SAN storage products in a timelt and proactive manner. Understands and uses appropriate scripting in support tasks and problem solving. Identifies and implements system and process improvements as needed. Conducts capacity planning processes in the analysis of trends in SAN storage utilization to predict future growth and recommend upgrades as warranted. Manages system documentation as required to ensure the complete and timely maintenance of all Grainger systems. Fully supports and utilizes all established system management processes and practices to ensure the ongoing integrity of all systems. Please provide me the updated resume at your earliest.
