And that's what many 3rd party developers like. Absolutely no changes except critical bug and platform support fixes. All the small bugs and peculiarities are known, are not replaced with a different set of small bugs and peculiarities in the next release and we've learned how to work around them. Actually, I do target Gtk+3 with a program which has a number of its own widgets. And I'm constantly anxious and wondering whether it was a good decision...
