I'd suggest testing your code with valgrind for memory corruption elsewhere. While virtually any bug is *possible* the above seems a little improbable. If it is happening, then you need to create a minimal test case, and put it in bugzilla. Providing the backtrace would also be useful in case other people can't reproduce the problem using your test case.
