Hi... This is my personal 10c regarding translations.
When translating, one should see wether a word for some object has already been established in the target language. E.g. Windows/DOS uses "Datei" as the translation of "File", but KDE people seem to find that the German translation of "File" is "Dokument". This can be confusing. I think when translating, one should not stick too much to the original grammar or word order. Rather capture the message of the original text and then try to express that messages in your own words in the other language. Some sample translations: �nderungen werden in Datei X �bertragen (patching file X) Aktualisiere X (Updating X) Lade Datei "X" herunter (downloading file X) Packet "X" wird eingerichtet (setting up X) I don't know wether gettext has a limitation, that you can not move the variable part in a string from one position to another, like in the examples above from the end to the middle of the string.
