Don't worry too much about kilo vs kibi here.  Bandwidth measurements 
rarely use the kibi- (1024) prefix.  Kilo- (1000) can be correctly used 
here.

Even memory bandwidth uses kilo/mega/giga- (1000's).  But for memory
_size_ it is worth being clear w/ kibi/mibi/gibi (1024's)..

very handy link. kB/s looks weird, but would be correct.  might be best
to stick with your suggestion of kilobytes/sec.  Just double-checked
against the spec you linked to.  At the bottom, it seems to agree with me
that bandwidth should be 1000's based.
