Quoting Paco Arjonilla <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> from ml.softs.gtk-gnutella.devel:
:Thinking about what Emile said, I think it's time that gtk-gnutella
:chooses about using gtk1 or gtk2. Gtk1 is becoming obsolete, and there
:is too much duplication of code by keeping both frontends. I think it is
:time about moving definitely to GTK2 and repairing that CPU excessive
:usage. The time spent on writing both frontends could be better used in
:making better the core.

You can't do that. I use GTK1... ;-)

There are still some little things not supported by GTK2 (like the gray
out of disabled searches in the list, for instance). Until GTK2 is a
perfect copy, and the CPU issues are fixed, we can't obsolete GTK1.

Besides, I don't think we'll obsolete GTK1 before 1.0. And after 1.0,
both GTK interfaces will be obsoleted by the separation of the GUI from
the core...
