I assume this was caused by a change by me which should have fixed
an assertion failure. The relevant change has been backed out in
-current and -stable, so I think this particular bug should be fixed
in CVS. Anyway, the GTK2 frontend seems to be very broken at the
moment and I assume that's at least partially my fault, too. All
my recent commits were targetted at problems on the surface and I
am still guessing and looking what could have caused those.
I'll try to use the weekend to approach the problems step by step
because I also get a lot of warnings, I haven't yet closely looked
at those and I have to understand some of the code first, before
I can effectively get to the root cause.

Whoever has a fine-working version (older than a week) shouldn't
update currently but stick to the older version.
