Hi, I was doing some reading up after magnet links where mentioned and I came across the Bitzi database (bitzi.com). The site basically provides meta-data on files shared on P2P networks by assigning ratings and recording comments. It would seem it would be useful to add support for this into gtkg so bad downloads (files masquerading as other files) could be skipped. I may have a go at knocking something up but I thought a few questions may be useful first :-) 1. Is anyone aware of any other P2P meta data services? I'm guessing if there are I should think about a more generic interface. 2. When would it make sense to query the database? When a search results come in? As a result of user action (download, explict query)? For all files we track (dmesh etc..)? 3. If I did the back-end code for this would any of the GUI people be interested in implenting the GUI side? Any other comments or issues?
