This is in the most recent copy of utf.c, version 1.45, as retrieved from public CVS.
compiling with gcc 2.95.4 fails with:
cc -c -I.. -I/usr/local/include/atk-1.0 -I/usr/local/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/local/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/gtk-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/pango-1.0 -I/usr/local/include/freetype2 -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/local/include/libxml2 -I/usr/local/include -g3 -Wall -I/usr/local/include/ utf8.c
utf8.c: In function `utf32_decompose_nfd_char':
utf8.c:3092: initializer element is not constant
I imagine this has to do with compiler being more strict (or just stupid) about what the code is trying to do. As many of you know more than me, I figured I should ask here; if anyone would like me to try test code, feel free to ask.
Best regards, Clayton
