The disadvantage of a simple overlap check is that, on a mismatch, you 
don't know which one of the two non-matching chunks to consider wrong. 
You have to discard both chunks to be sure. This way, an evil source 
can force you to discard already downloaded parts. An intelligent way 
to detect and discard evil sources must include quite "stateful" (and 
thus complex) logic, unfortunately.
