Alt-C and Ctrl-C should actually not be used for this because either are usually bound to copying. It certainly shouldn't. If you hit Alt-C multiple types, does the the button ever get the focus? If the same key is bound to multiple items, the GUI should cycle through them. The binding could be changed to Alt-R. Maybe that solves the issue for you.
