Hi,

Under GTK+-2.2.4 configured without pangoxft, the "Sans" and "Serif" fonts
display the standard Latin character set plus many other characters including
Greek, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, etc. Most other fonts include common
non-Latin characters, but not Chinese or Japanese.

GTK+-2.4.0 requires that pangoxft be configured (fontconfig, freetype, xft
must be present). The characters are definitely sharper than without
pangoxft, but none of the fonts on my system that come up on
gtk_font_selection_dialog_new() include Chinese or Japanese characters.

Are there any fonts that work with pangoxft and include a full range of
characters like the non-pangoxft "Sans" and "Serif" fonts?

Thanks in advance

Dave
