fonts in .gtkrc-2.0

If I write something like: gtk-font-name = "Times 14"
in my ~/.gtkrc-2.0, where does GTK take the Times font from. I mean what
this name (since it's one of those full names you can see with
fontsel) resolves to. Please help.
