Freetype 1 is an older, deprecated package.  The API and libraries are 
substantially different from freetype-2.  Fortunately, because some packages 
require Freetype 1, the two packages coexist fairly well.  Libraries for 
Freetype 1 are called "libttf" while for Freetype 2 are "libfreetype"
