Hello,

I'm the creator of a program called DreamPie, and there's one GTK bug that
causes it to crash ( https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=611069 ). I
now found the cause of the bug and filed a patch, and I wonder if a
workaround is possible, for users of current and old GTK versions.

What caused the bug is that GtkTextView uses some idle callbacks (functions
called by idle_add). If an event is emitted before they are handled, the
program crashes.

Is there a way to make gtk/glib process idle callbacks without handling
events? If there is, I would use it after I add text to the TextView, and
solve the problem.

Thanks,
Noam
