GLib does not do anything special, in this regard. When running `make check`, Make goes through all the test programs, builds them, and launches them. Usually, it does it under a test harness — the default being the TAP harness, which checks the output and generates a log and a report at the end. You can just go under each tests/ sub-directory, run `make check` to build and run each test. If one fails, you can re-run the failing test by launching the test executable. There's also the option of running the test under GDB, or similar debuggers, using `libtool --mode execute`.
