Folks, Freewebfone for Linux version 1.1 is now available. A GTK+ based GUI has been added to this new release, making it much easier to use. With Freewebfone, you can make a web phone call, record and play voice mail, or even listen to web broadcasting! Freewebfone for Linux is fully compatible with Freewebfone for Windows, so you can communicate with friends running on MS Windows. In order to use Freewebfone, you need to meet following requirements: * Running Mandrake or Red Hat Linux, 6.0 or later * X Window running properly * Sound card works properly * Running on a network or dialup modem works properly Freewebfone is based on three key components: GTK+ for GUI, OSS API for audio I/O, LinuxThreads for multi-thread supports. If you are using old version, make sure your system supports all these components before using Freewebfone. (Other distributions may be supported in the future) Freewebfone is a freeware, but not open source software. (GTK+ GUI code available upon request).
