[gtk-list] problem

hey,
    I recently installed gtk1.2.6.
    I am using terminatorX, gaim and other tools which use gtk.
    after compiling all these appications.. when I try to run them I get
the error..

     Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 11 (Try again) on X server :0.0.

    I get the same error when I try to use all applications which use
gtk/gdk...


    why does this happen.. Is there a patch for this...

    any help is appreaicated..
