It looks to me as though GTK+'s clist (1.2.6) is displaying text 1 pixel
below where it should be. It works well with many common fonts but testing
with TrueType Arial or Verdana will show this. Put the string "����g" into a
list by, for example saving a file with this name and then using the file
open widget. There is always a blank pixel before the top pixel of any
characters and with some fonts, the bottom of the descender of the 'g' is
not shown.
The tree behaves similarly.
