Apologies for the delay, I've been out of e-mail range for the past two weeks.

The reason why the git links were broken is because the commas at the
end of the git URI's are being scraped from the news feeds and made
into (invalid) links.  I've removed them for the last 6 or so news
announcements, which fixes the links to the git repos in those
announcements.  I'll try to watch for this in the future.
